Have hands-on expertise with embedded Linux, microcontroller-based devices, or real-time operating systems, and understand how to secure them effectively.

Responsibilities

Product Security Consulting
Supporting and advising clients throughout the product security lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring secure development practices and compliance.

Embedded Device Testing
Conducting independent security analyses and penetration tests of embedded systems, addressing both software and hardware vulnerabilities.

Client-Centric Security Architecture
Translating client-specific needs into robust technical IoT/OT security concepts tailored to their operational environments.

Technical Communication
Effectively articulating complex technical security requirements and methodologies to various stakeholders.

Vulnerability Research & Advocacy
Identifying vulnerabilities in IoT devices, publishing impactful findings, and sharing knowledge through conference presentations.

Regulatory Support
Contributing to projects involving CRA (Cyber Resilience Act) and RED (Radio Equipment Directive), offering technical input and support.

Compliance Facilitation
Assisting clients in navigating regulatory challenges with a proactive, learning-oriented approach to evolving security standards.

Qualifications

Embedded Systems Security
Proven experience securing embedded Linux systems, real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks), and microcontroller-based architectures.

Hardware and IoT Security
Expertise in hardware hacking, physical attacks, and securing connected IoT devices across consumer and industrial domains.

Offensive Security Techniques
Hands-on experience with penetration testing, reverse engineering, and exploit development for embedded targets.

Secure Development & Automation
Fluency in secure coding practices and skilled in scripting (Python), with the ability to automate security assessments and tooling.

Communication and Business Acumen
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to align technical details with business goals.

Problem Solving Mindset
Creativity and persistence in overcoming technical and organizational challenges in client environments.

Willingness to Travel
Readiness to travel occasionally to client sites or company offices.

Language Skills
Fluent written and spoken German and English are required.
